Disciplinary Committee
In order to deal with the problems arising out of misconduct of students, conflicts / fights amongst individuals or groups, violation of rules with regard to ragging, smoking, drinking, indulging in drugs, teasing trespassing, thefts, misappropriation, misrepresentation of any kind are treated as disciplinary issues of very serious nature and will be dealt with accordingly.
The constitution of disciplinary committees for a period of two at different levels is given below:
- For individual in discipline/dispute amongst hostellers arising after the regular working hours of the University:
- Dr.Nitin Thapar, Chief Hostel Warden (Convener)
- Chief Security Officer
- Dr. Ashish Oberai, HOD-CSE
- Concerned Dean
- Head of department of the student involved
- Concerned Hostel Warden
- Concerned Student Mentor
2. Individual indiscipline of day scholars of disputes amongst groups where inter disciplines/ departments are involved:
- Mr. Ajay Rana, HOD-ME (Convener)
- Dr. Sanjiv Mittal, Director Pharmacy
- Chief Security Officer
- Concerned Student Mentor
- Concerned Dean
- Head of department of the student involved
3. Dispute within the department from amongst students of same class/department:
- Concerned Dean
- Head of department of the student involved
- Concerned Student Mentor
4. Depending upon the severity of the act the penalty could be as under.
I. Warning.
II. Report to Mentor
III. Probation (He may be allowed to attend the classes under close scrutiny by the mentor.(Attendance may or may not be given)
IV. Fine
V. Restitution for the damage of the property
VI. Suspension/ Rustication from the hostel andUniversity.
VII. Dismissal from the hostel
Process of the Complaint
A written complaint is necessary before proceeding for any action. Approval from the Registrar is
necessary in case of Restitution, Suspension and Rustication.
