RIMT University Successfully Hosted EDUCON 2026 with Eminent Global Educationists
RIMT University successfully organized EDUCON 2026 in collaboration with the Global Educational Research Association (GERA) on 10th and 11th April 2026, bringing together distinguished academicians, researchers, and policymakers from across the world to deliberate on the theme, “Envisioning Future Education: Policies, Innovations, and Ground Realities.”
The two-day international conference witnessed insightful deliberations by renowned speakers from India and abroad. Prof. S. K. Bawa, former Vice Chancellor and President (HQ) of GERA, spoke on GERA and its theme. He highlighted its significance and encouraged active participation in achieving its objectives. The inaugural session featured keynote address by eminent educationists Prof. Nandita, Panjab University, Chandigarh, who highlighted emerging perspectives in higher education, and Prof. Shiv O. Prasher, Distinguished James McGill Professor, Montreal, who delivered the presidential address emphasizing innovation-driven educational leadership.
The conference also hosted internationally acclaimed scholars such as Prof. Saamdu Chetri, Bhutan, who delivered the Passi Memorial Lecture, and Prof. Bhola Thapa, former Vice Chancellor, Kathmandu University, Nepal, who shared valuable insights on resilience and educational development in challenging environments.
Prominent plenary speakers included Prof. J Dhiman, McGill University, Canada, who spoke on building resilient education systems for sustainability, and Prof. Raghu Enchampati, USA, who discussed the role of technology and innovation in developing community-based climate education in India. Prof. J K Dhillon, Worcester University, UK, addressed professional development through mentoring, while Prof. Surapone, KMUTT, Bangkok, presented on bridging AI, policy, and practice in future education in Thailand.
The conference was further enriched by academic contributions from distinguished Indian education leaders including Prof. S K Bawa, Former Vice Chancellor and President (HQ) GERA, and Prof. S P Malhotra, President, GERA India, whose leadership and scholarly guidance added depth to the proceedings.
The valedictory session featured Prof. Eugene Kowch, Chief Guest, who delivered a thought-provoking address on adaptive and resilient education systems in the era of AI co-intelligence. The event concluded with the presentation of the Best Paper Award, feedback session, and vote of thanks by the Registrar, RIMT.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the Registrar, Mr. Rakesh Mohan, who expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished speaker, organizers, and participants for their valuable contributions to the event.
