Two Day Orientation Program “Aagman 24” Organized by RIMT University
Student Orientation Programme plays an important role in a student’s transition to a University life and is aimed at familiarizing the students to the campus environment, its faculties and infrastructure.
RIMT University organized Aagman 24, during the orientation the students were informed about the various cells and their activities, infrastructural facilities, extracurricular activities, learning resources, and the college culture. They were made to understand their role and responsibilities during college life. They were also informed about the rules & regulations, campus safety and the academic calendar.
Mr. Amit Mohan, Head Department of English welcomed the new students and wished them well for their journey at RIMT University.
Pro- vice chancellor, Dr. B S Bhatia motivated the students and said that the fresher students here have an opportunity to learn new things, acquire new knowledge, grow new competencies, develop new skills and enhance their personal attributes in profound ways that will shape their character for the rest of their life. Dr. Bhatia further added that the students have an opportunity to weave new friendship that will impact their lives in incredible ways and that education is not only about acquiring knowledge and skills, but it also prepares us for life.
Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Jibanananda Mishra, explained the rules, regulations, procedures and practices to be followed by every student in the institution. Dr. Mishra enlightened the students about the academic affairs of the university. He made a presentation about the institution policy, administration, curriculum aspects. His words covered the importance of each branch themes and their future career path. His encouraged the new students.
Dean Student Welfare and Associate Professor, SOMC, Dr. Nitin Thapar gave detailed information about the variety of programs that include studies, accommodation, social extra-curricular activities, Various University cells, grievances and support . He assured the students to provide complete support and guidance.
The speaker of Day one was Mr. Lokesh Jain; Chairman CII-Ludhiana Chapter focused on making new connections in the market and inspired the students to create their accounts on LinkedIn. He further motivated the students to keep themselves updated as it is the need of the hour. He encouraged the students to approach their studies with a growth mindset. He stressed the importance of communication and collaboration. He told the fresher students to keep their goals in front of them always and ever lose sight of their goals. He motivated the students to learn character, discipline, compassion and above all understand the meaning of life.
The speaker of Day two was Mr. Neeraj Jain, Joint Managing Director & Head (Yam Business), of Vardhman Textiles Limited. He laid stress on building and maintaining an effective management team. He inspired the students to stay focused in life to achieve their goals. He shared his rich experience and emphasized on the importance of hard work and consistency in life and motivated the students to grab the opportunities that cone their way. Mr. Neeraj further talked about hard work, creativity and innovation. He said that each day measures the steps that you take towards your goals and this is how you will find success.
Registrar, Mr. Rakesh Mohan gave the vote of thanks and congratulated the proactive and devoted members of the team for the successful event. He wished the students every success and most fulfilling life experience.
