School of Sciences has been established with the objective to introduce interdisciplinary courses at degree, postgraduate and research levels. I understand that the strategies that we formulate must generate new opportunities for the students and faculty members for heightening the knowledge and understanding, performing leading-edge research, and development of skilled manpower. The basic aim is to provide the students with an educational training that emphasizes on innovation and social awareness. Besides, there is a dire need to foster the spirit of inquisitiveness among our young students and research scholars. Through a multidisciplinary approach, students can acquire an array of skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, time-management, self-management, communication and writing, analysis and research methodologies, team work, and much more – that are easily transferable across different work environments.
Education and research have both been very important components in the growth of students and faculties, which should be an individual’s pressing priorities to thrive in today’s fast changing world. Succeeding in cutting-edge research endeavors requires an amalgamation of multidisciplinary quality teaching along with innate curiosity. In realizing the vision of the development of high-quality education and research, the School of Basic, Applied and Biosciences is supported by an enthusiastic team of teaching and non-teaching staff. They are instrumental in executing quality education, worthy governance practices to reinforce the organizational structures and contribute to organizational competence by working in a collaborative and transparent way. Our school is formed with emphasis on interdisciplinary subjects in areas of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Food Science and Technology, Medical Laboratory Science/Technology, Forensic Science, and Biosciences (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany and Zoology). I sincerely believe that interdisciplinary research patronages in advancing fundamental understanding or solves problems whose solutions are beyond the scope of a single discipline or area of research practice. Our qualified and highly competent teaching faculty members are very much committed to their goal and work efficiently and tirelessly to develop foundational skills of the students to achieve their goals in desired fields. I am sure our students, staff and faculty members will bring laurels to the school.
Furthermore, we require bridging the gap between academia and industry. An expansion of industrial problem-based research is the need of the hour. In a value-added drive towards industrial impact, fruitful and timely execution of medium and small size industrial issues must be endeavored.
