Abstract: This study investigates the interdependent relationship between employment and economic growth. Through an analysis of existing domestic and international research, it highlights how economic growth serves as a driving force for employment while employment itself reinforces economic expansion. Focusing on China’s current context, the paper examines the causes behind the phenomenon of high economic growth coupled with low employment levels, identifying factors such as governmental priorities, technological advancements, and imbalanced industrial structures. Finally, it proposes strategic measures including redefining government roles, adopting employment-friendly technologies, restructuring industries, and promoting the tertiary sector to achieve balanced and sustainable growth in both employment and the overall economy.
