RIMT University Hosts NCC Annual Camp and Thal Sainik Training
RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh, is proud to host the Annual Combined Training Camp (CATC-55) and Pre-Thal Sainik Camp Training (Pre TSC-1) under the supervision of NCC Group Headquarters, Ludhiana. The prestigious training event is being organized by the 19 Punjab Battalion NCC, Ludhiana, and is scheduled from 23rd June to 2nd July 2025.
A total of 513 cadets, including 295 boys and 218 girls from various institutions across Punjab, are participating in this intensive 10-day camp. The objective of the training is to enhance the physical, mental, and leadership skills of the cadets and prepare them for higher-level competitions such as the Thal Sainik Camp, one of the most prestigious NCC camps at the national level.
Under the dynamic leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Faizan Zahoor, Officiating Commanding Officer of the 19 Punjab Battalion and Subedar Major Sukhdev Singh, cadets are receiving rigorous training in multiple aspects of military discipline. The training schedule includes, Map Reading and Navigation Sessions that are designed to teach cadets how to interpret topographical maps and use compasses for navigation, essential skills for any military aspirant, Drill and Parade that instill a sense of discipline, coordination, and team spirit among the cadets, Leadership and Personality Development workshops and interactive sessions focusing on enhancing decision-making skills, public speaking, time management, and confidence-building among the cadets etc.
The camp also emphasizes character-building, unity, and a spirit of patriotism, aligning with the core values of the National Cadet Corps. Additionally group discussions and fitness sessions are integrated into the daily schedule to ensure all-round development.
A lecture on joining the Indian Army and the Agniveer recruitment scheme was delivered to inform and motivate students about career opportunities in the armed forces.
