RIMT School of Legal Studies celebrated World day for International Justice
Every Year on July 17, World day for international justice is observed all around the world. The aim of the day is to promote international criminal justice and as a way of supporting the working of the International Criminal Court. The aim of this day is to unite everyone who wants to support justice as well as to promote victims’ rights. It is to help prevent serious crimes and those that put the peace, security and well being of the world at risk. Keeping this aim of providing and promoting international justice RIMT School of Legal Studies held one day Workshop on 17 July 2024. The main purpose of this workshop is to enhance the knowledge and skills of students of RIMT University through guest lecturer at Moot Court Hall, RIMT University. Guest lecture is provided by the panel lawyer Parveen Kaur (Advocate) of District Legal Services Authority, Fatehgarh Sahib. The agenda of the lecture is to provide awareness regarding justice and free legal aid. Advocate Parveen Kaur awared students on the rights of the Prisoners, Right of the Women and the agencies working to provide free legal aid to the needy persons. The workshop was held by RIMT School of legal studies in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority. Dr. Jyoti Angrish (HOD RSOLS) and Dr. Jibanananda Mishra ( Dean Academics Affairs) throws light on the use of provision of legal aid for the needy persons and role of legal services for protecting the basic human rights of the individuals. Students enjoyed the lecture as it added the knowledge regarding provision of legal aid by different authorities by the Government authorities. The workshop was conducted by Coordinator Dr Parminder Singh and Co-Coordinator Mrs. Saru Sharma. On this occasion staff members of RSOLS namely Dr. Ravinderjeet Kaur, Dr. Rimpy Khullar, Dr. Mohleen Kaur and Mr. Amninder Singh were also present.
