About the Rekhi Foundation

The Rekhi Foundation for Happiness is a globally recognized non-profit organization committed to promoting the Science of Happiness, positive psychology, mental well-being, mindfulness, and holistic human development through education, research, and institutional partnerships. Established with the vision of creating happier individuals and healthier communities, the Foundation collaborates with leading universities, educational institutions, researchers, and professionals across the world to integrate happiness and well-being into mainstream education and organizational practices. The Foundation advocates that happiness is not merely an emotion but a scientifically measurable and teachable life skill that can be cultivated through evidence-based practices, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, resilience, compassion, and positive behavioral interventions. By combining principles of positive psychology with academic excellence, the Foundation seeks to empower individuals to lead meaningful, productive, and emotionally balanced lives. To achieve its mission, the Rekhi Foundation develops academic curricula, faculty training program, research frameworks, certification courses, workshops, seminars, and community outreach initiatives focused on the Science of Happiness and Mindful Living. It also provides academic guidance, pedagogical support, and global best practices to partner institutions for establishing Centres of Excellence dedicated to happiness education and well-being. These commitments are reflected in the MoU, which provides for academic frameworks, course materials, faculty orientation, and guidance on global best practices in positive psychology and mindfulness research.

The Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness is founded on a set of core values that guide its academic programs, research initiatives, institutional partnerships, and community engagement activities. These values reflect the Centre’s commitment to promoting holistic development, ethical leadership, and lifelong well-being while fostering an inclusive and compassionate learning environment.

The Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness is established with the objective of integrating the principles of happiness, positive psychology, mindfulness, and holistic well-being into higher education. The Centre aims to create an ecosystem that promotes academic excellence, mental well-being, interdisciplinary research, and community engagement while preparing students to become emotionally intelligent, socially responsible, and professionally competent individuals. In collaboration with the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness, the Centre will serve as a platform for teaching, research, innovation, and outreach activities that contribute to individual well-being and societal progress. The MoU specifically envisages establishing the Centre, developing academic programs, and collaborating on research and public workshops to promote mental health awareness.

  • Develop Academic Programs including Certificate, Diploma, Degree, and value-added courses that integrate the principles of happiness, emotional intelligence, mindful living, resilience, and psychological well-being into higher education.
  • Promote Collaborative Research by encouraging interdisciplinary research in positive psychology, mental health, emotional intelligence, workplace well-being, education, and social impact through partnerships with national and international institutions.
  • Enhance Faculty Competencies by organizing Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), orientation programs, workshops, and training sessions to strengthen teaching, research, and mentoring capabilities in the Science of Happiness.
  • Support Student Well-being by creating a positive learning environment that promotes emotional resilience, stress management, self-awareness, mindfulness, and healthy interpersonal relationships through structured wellness initiatives.
  • Foster Innovation in Teaching and Learning by adopting evidence-based pedagogical approaches, experiential learning, reflective practices, and technology-enabled education to enhance student engagement and personal growth.
  • Strengthen Industry and Institutional Partnerships by collaborating with academic institutions, healthcare organizations, corporate organizations, government agencies, and civil society organizations to promote research, training, and knowledge exchange in the field of happiness and well-being.
  • Organize Academic and Community Outreach Programs including seminars, workshops, conferences, public lectures, awareness campaigns, and wellness initiatives to promote mental health literacy and the Science of Happiness among students and the wider community.
  • Promote Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility by nurturing values such as empathy, compassion, integrity, inclusivity, resilience, and responsible citizenship among learners and educators.
  • Contribute to National and Global Development Goals by supporting the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (particularly SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4 – Quality Education, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals) through education, research, and community engagement.

The Research & Innovation vertical of the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness is dedicated to advancing scholarly inquiry, evidence-based practices, and interdisciplinary research in the fields of happiness, positive psychology, mental well-being, mindfulness, and holistic human development. The Centre aims to create a vibrant research ecosystem where faculty members, students, researchers, healthcare professionals, psychologists, and policy experts collaborate to generate innovative knowledge that enhances individual well-being and contributes to societal progress. In partnership with the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness, the Centre will promote high-quality research that integrates psychology, education, management, healthcare, neuroscience, behavioural sciences, sociology, law, public policy, and technology to address contemporary challenges related to mental health, emotional resilience, workplace well-being, and quality of life. The MoU specifically provides for joint research initiatives and the development of mind-body well-being frameworks as a key objective of the Centre. The Centre will encourage faculty members and students to undertake collaborative research projects, publish in high-impact national and international journals, present papers at academic conferences, and participate in multidisciplinary research initiatives. It will also facilitate partnerships with universities, research institutions, healthcare organizations, government agencies, and international organizations to strengthen knowledge exchange and promote global research collaborations.To cultivate a culture of innovation, the Centre will support the development of evidence-based well-being frameworks, innovative teaching methodologies, digital wellness solutions, community intervention models, and policy recommendations that promote mental health and happiness across educational institutions, workplaces, and society. Research outcomes will be translated into practical applications through training program, community outreach initiatives, publications, and institutional collaborations.

The Student Wellness initiative of the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness is designed to promote the holistic development and well-being of students by fostering a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing educational environment. Recognizing that academic success is closely linked to emotional, psychological, social, and physical well-being, the Centre aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and resilience required to lead healthy, balanced, and meaningful lives. The Centre will adopt a proactive approach to student wellness by integrating the principles of positive psychology, mindfulness, emotional intelligence, resilience, and mental health awareness into campus life. Through structured wellness programmes, experiential learning, counselling services, and community engagement, students will be encouraged to develop self-awareness, effective coping strategies, positive relationships, and a growth mindset. In collaboration with the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness, the Centre will implement evidence-based interventions that promote mental well-being, reduce stress and anxiety, enhance emotional resilience, and create a culture of happiness across the University. These initiatives directly support the objectives of the MoU to integrate happiness and well-being into higher education through academic programs, research, and public awareness activities.

Counselling and Psychological Support

The Centre will facilitate access to professional counselling services, enabling students to seek guidance on academic, emotional, personal, and career-related challenges. Confidential counselling sessions will help students manage stress, anxiety, emotional difficulties, and other psychological concerns while promoting resilience and positive mental health.

Happiness Clubs

The Centre will establish Happiness Clubs that encourage students to participate in activities promoting gratitude, kindness, empathy, optimism, and social connectedness. These clubs will serve as platforms for peer learning, collaborative engagement, and the practice of positive habits that contribute to overall well-being.

Mindfulness and Meditation Program

Regular mindfulness sessions, guided meditation, yoga practices, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques will be organized to help students improve concentration, emotional regulation, stress management, and overall psychological well-being. These programs will encourage students to cultivate mindfulness as a lifelong practice for personal growth and resilience.

Peer Mentoring and Support Networks

The Centre will promote peer mentoring program where trained student mentors provide academic guidance, emotional support, and encouragement to fellow students. This initiative will strengthen interpersonal relationships, foster a sense of belonging, and facilitate a supportive campus environment.
