Tree Plantation Drive Organized on World Forest Day by School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology
On March 26, 2026, a plantation drive was organized by School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, RIMT University, on the behalf of World Forest Day. The event was held at the Herbal garden of the university, and it aimed to raise awareness about the importance of forests and to encourage people to take action to protect them. The theme of the plantation drive was Forests and Economies.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Jujhar Singh, Renowned Floriculturist (Mata Gujri College). The whole event was organized under the guidance of Dr. MS Toor, Dean School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. The Students and Faculty members of the school also participated in the plantation drive.
The participants were provided with saplings of various species, including Neem, Jamun, Aonla and Dhkain. The students enthusiastically dug pits and planted the saplings. After the planting was completed, the organizers encouraged the students to take care of the saplings they had planted and also urged them to continue to take action to protect the environment and to raise awareness about the importance of forests.
Overall, the plantation drive on World Forest Day was a success, and it helped to raise awareness about the importance of forests and the need to protect them. The event was a great opportunity for people to come together and take concrete action to protect the environment.
