RIMT University Organizes Walkathon 1.0 to Promote Environmental Awareness
RIMT University successfully organized Walkathon 1.0 as part of its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and preserving Mother Earth.
The walkathon was conducted under the Environmental Education Programme, supported by the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The initiative was guided by Dr. K. S. Bath and Dr. Mandakini Thakur, whose leadership played a vital role in the successful execution of the event.
The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Gurinder Singh Gary Warring, MLA from Amloh. Other distinguished guests included DSP Gurdeep Singh, Municipal Council President Harpreet Singh Prince, and SHO Amritveer Singh, whose presence encouraged participants and highlighted the importance of collective action towards environmental protection.
Students of RIMT University actively participated in the walkathon, carrying banners, raising slogans, and performing impactful street plays to spread awareness about environmental conservation. Their enthusiastic involvement helped deliver a strong message about sustainability and the urgent need to adopt eco-friendly practices. The event concluded on a positive note, inspiring both participants and the local community to contribute towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
