About Programme
Masters of Arts in Economics or M.A. (Economics) is a two-year post-graduate programme provides an in-depth insight of finance and management sectors and develops the skills of a student so that they are able to face any challenge in the industry. The programme teaches the latest principles of economic theory through practical learning to students with the help of various internship programmes, workshops, seminars etc.Â
The curriculum of this programme has been devised with the latest research in mind and draws on some of the most intriguing research fields and generally includes the study of principles of economic theory, micro and macroeconomics, financial systems, International economics etc.Â
It provides students not only the opportunity to be trained by highly qualified economists but also gives them the opportunity to leverage and expand their networks so that they can shape their careers, whether it be in the academically or beyond.

Programme Education Objectives (PEOs)
- PEO1 To create, apply and disseminate knowledge of the language, literature, folklore, culture, and manuscripts of Punjabi domain under different specializations.
- PEO2 To develop the ability to identify, formulate and analyze in theatrical and practical domains of Punjabi language, literature, culture, and folklore.
- PEO3 To develop the attitude to peruse further research in Punjabi language, literature and culture.
Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
- PSO1 Research scholars will get understand the relations of history, society, culture, and human behavior with literature.
- PSO2 Research scholars will be aware of the skill of developing intercultural tensions, literary creations, impressive elaboration, and explanation as well.
- PSO3 Research scholars will get knowledge about medieval Punjabi poetry (Gurmat, Sufi, Kissa ate Vaar).
Career Prospects
After completion of degree students will be eligible for UGC NET, Indian Economic services, Data Analytics and join various organisation as an Economist and Economic Consultant like; RBI, Financial Institutions, World Bank UNDP, UNO and can appear in civil services.
