Dr. Jibanananda Mishra Contributes as Resource Person at NIPER National Workshop
Dr. Jibanananda Mishra, Professor (Biotechnology) and Dean, Academic Affairs/School of Sciences, RIMT University, was invited as a distinguished Resource Person at the National Workshop on Laboratory Animals in Pharmaceutical Research: Ethics, Techniques, and Regulations. The event was jointly organized by the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), S.A.S. Nagar, Punjab, in collaboration with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and the Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CCSEA), Govt. of India, and was held from August 21–23, 2025.
On Day 3 (August 23, 2025), Dr. Mishra delivered an insightful talk on the theme “Animal Models in Pharmaceutical Research: Translational Challenges and the Way Forward.” His session highlighted the pivotal role of animal models in bridging preclinical discoveries with clinical outcomes, while addressing ethical considerations, evolving regulatory frameworks, and innovative methodologies in pharmaceutical research. He further emphasized global best practices and the pressing need to strengthen India’s translational research ecosystem in alignment with international standards.
In addition to his lecture, Dr. Mishra served as a panel member in an engaging interactive session with participants representing leading academic and research institutions from across the country. The discussions revolved around advancing responsible research practices, regulatory compliance, and sustainable innovations in drug discovery and development.
Dr. Mishra’s presentation and interactions received wide appreciation from participants, experts, and delegates, who commended his unique ability to integrate academic expertise, industrial experience, and regulatory insights. His participation added significant value to the workshop and further strengthened collaborative efforts between academia, research institutions, and regulatory authorities to promote ethical and impactful pharmaceutical as well as basic research in India.
