Formation of Board of Studies
- 1.1.1. Creation of Board of Studies: Board of Studies for various courses or group of courses or various Subjects or group of Subjects will be constituted as per provision made under Statute No. 26 of RIMT University Act.
- 1.1.2. Constitution of Board of Studies:
- 1.1.2.1. It will have the following members:

- 1.1.2.2. All members except at S. No. 3 will be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of concerned Chairperson.
- 1.1.2.3. If the members of the rank of Professor/Associate Professor are not available in the Department, then teachers of lower rank can be nominated.
- 1.1.2.4. If the number of teachers in a department is less than 5, then all the teachers shall be nominated in BOS.
- 1.1.2.5. Any member, as nominated by the Chairperson shall act as member- secretary of BOS.
- 1.1.3. Quorum: Quorum of the Board of Studies is minimum half of the members of the Board of Studies including the Chairperson.
- 1.1.4. Meetings: Chairperson will call the meeting, whenever, he feels to do so, but BOS will meet at least once in every semester.
- 1.1.5. Functions of Board of Studies: The main functions of BOS are as follows:
- 1.1.5.1. Prepare syllabi for various Subjects/Courses keeping in view the objectives of the institution, interest of stakeholders and national requirements for consideration and approval of the Academic Council.
- 1.1.5.2. Suggest methodologies for innovative teaching and evaluation techniques.
- 1.1.5.3. Suggest study material (Text Books, Reference Books, Journals, Websites, etc) for effective and quality teaching.
- 1.1.5.4 Coordinate research, teaching, extension and other academic activities in the department/ institution.
- 1.1.5.5. The Board of Studies will also suggest a panel of faculty members for setting the question papers, appointment as External examiners, evaluation of answer scripts and other examination related tasks, as desired by COE.
- 1.1.5.6. To execute all the decisions of the Academic Council and to intimate the status of progress in this regard to the concerned authority.
- 1.1.5.7. To suggest remedies for Faculty Development.
