9th Meeting of Academic Council held at RIMT University

9th Meeting of Academic Council of RIMT University, was held on 28th April, 2023, Prof. Rakesh Mohan, Registrar welcomed all the members of Academic Council. 

Dr. Bhupinder Singh Brar, Vice-Chancellor of the RIMT University, Dr. Parminder Singh, Professor and Head, Retd, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, Dr. Vinod Sood from Industry and Dr. Jibanananda Mishra, Dean Academic Affairs of the RIMT University had joined as new members in the Academic Council of the University.  

The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Vijay Kumar Aggarwal Pro-Chancellor, Dr. B.S. Bhatia Pro-Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Ashok Gupta, Prof. T C Kandpal, Prof. Ashok Ganguli from IIT, Delhi, Dr. Parminder Singh, Dr. Pardeep Sharma Registrar, Mohandai Oswal Hospital, Ludhiana, Dr. Vinod Sood and other members of the Academic Council of University.  

The restructuring of UG, PG programs in the various disciplines of university were thoroughly discussed, in the light of New Education Policy (NEP).  A number of suggestions were given for their smooth functioning.  

The organization of research, including Doctoral, R&D, Innovation etc was discussed in detail, the need for industry sponsored research, both in the doctoral and R& D programs was suggested.  

Examination Reforms were also discussed in detail, it was suggested that examination reforms should be a continuing process.
