Women’s Day Celebration at RIMT University
International Women’s Day which is celebrated on 8th March to recognize the economic, political, social and cultural accomplishments of women from varying backgrounds. The day is celebrated universally, featuring the battles and accomplishments of women. RIMT University celebrated Women’s Day in many different ways, as School of Legal Studies of RIMT University organizes by arranging Online Webinar on topic, “Observance of International Women Day” with a motive of Legal Literacy to women- a way forwarded to Women empowerment and protection of women from domestic violence, this webinar is taken by Ms. Harpreet Kaur Hunjan and Ms, Shiney Tiwari, panel advocates of Authority on behalf of District Legal Services Authority. Moreover, School of Education, RIMT University celebrated women’s day by inviting Chief Guests, Mr. Harbhajan Singh, District Child Welfare Officer, Fatehgarh Sahib, Dr. Neetu Sethi, Principal Modern College of Education, Ms. Harpinder Kaur, Mrs. Seema Kauishal founder NGO ‘ Ek Nai Udaan’ Mandi Gobindgarh, Mrs. Kirty Ratan, President of NGO ‘Ek Nai Udaan’ , Amloh.
Dr. SumitaVig, Principal of School of Education stressed upon the importance and need to celebrate International Women’s Day. This occasion was also graced by the Vice Chancellor of the RIMT University, Dr. A.S. Chawla. Also, School of Biosciences organized poster presentation on the theme, “Women in Science” in which about 10 posters were presented by the students which were judged by panel of three Jury members. The environment of RIMT University on International Women’s Day remained full of zeal. At the last, Chancellor of RIMT University, Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal commented that it is a day to admire women in your life; it can be your mother, sister, wife or a teacher.
