RIMT School of Legal Studies students visited District Courts, Fatehgarh Sahib to observe and understand the judicial process
RIMT School of Legal Studies has conducted visit of students of BALLB/BBALLB/BCOMLLB/LLB 1st Semester, to District Courts, Fatehgarh Sahib on dated 07/11/2024. The purpose of visiting the court was to observe and understand the judicial process, including court proceeding, the role of court personnel, and how cases are managed and adjudicated. The students observed the courtroom’s strict protocol including maintaining the silence and standing when the judge entered and to address the judge respectfully. The students were divided in four groups, one team of the students visited the court of Sh. Arun Gupta Ji, District and Sessions Judge, 2nd team visited the court of Sh. Jasbir Singh Mehandiratta, Additional Chief Judicial J Magistrate, 3rd team visited the court of Sh. Vijay Kumar, Special Judge, Family Courts, and 4th team visited the court of other judicial magistrates including Ms. Sonia Kinra. The judges guided the students and demonstrated that how judicial oversight helps keep the proceeding fair and on track. After that the students gained the legal knowledge about the working of Lok Adalat, mediation and conciliation by visiting the Alternative Dispute Redressal Center, Fatehgarh Sahib.
The court visit was an invaluable experience providing a practical perspective on the judicial system. The visit enriched the students with appreciation for the legal profession and the process by which justice is served. The students also observed how judges deliver ruling and how lawyers structure their arguments.
After that the students interacted with the President Sh. Amardeep Singh Dharni, and Secretary Sh. Vivek Sharma of District Bar Association Fatehgarh Sahib, they motivated the students about the noble profession of advocacy, and the alumni of RIMT School of Legal Studies working as advocate at District Court Fatehgarh Sahib, guided the students about the practical experience of this legal profession.
In the end the students paid their obeisance at Gurudwara Shri Fatehgarh Sahib. The visit was conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Jyoti Angrish, HOD, RIMT School of Legal Studies, Dr. Parminder Singh, (Assistant Professor), Ms. Saru Sharma (Assistant Professor), and Ms. Anjani Sharma, , (Assistant Professor), of RIMT School of Legal Studies, RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh.
