National Webinar on “Ayurveda and its Role in Control of COVID-19”
RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab organized a One Day National webinar on “Ayurveda and its Role inControl of COVID-19” on August 5, 2021 at 4:00pm. Dr. P.V.V. Prasad, Director, Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Kolkata, CCRAS, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India was the keynote speaker. He was welcomed by Dr. M.S. Bindra, Director Academics & Dr. Suresh Kaswan, Dean, School of Computing & Coordinator of IQAC, RIMT University. Dr. Ramneet Kaur, H.O.D., Department of Life Sciences gave an introduction to the speaker. Dr. Prasad enlightened the audience about the basic principles of Ayurveda and how it works. He explained various immunity-boosting measures and lifestyle modifications in Covid management. He laid stress on Yoga for mental wellbeing during Covid. How eating habits like what we eat, how we eat and how much we eat affect the immunity was well explained by the speaker. By describing the benefits of kitchen ingredients and spices speaker brought back India’s traditional lifestyle to the fore. He further highlighted the Rasayana (Rejuvenation therapy)and also gave information on Ayush Sanjivani app. He concluded the speech by giving the mantra “Be with Yoga and Beat Home, Be safe and Be Healthy”. The webinar was very interesting and thought-provoking. 452 students attended the event actively. Dr.Suresh Kaswan, Dean, School of Computing & Coordinator of IQAC, RIMT University, proposed a vote of thanks to the guest speaker. The event was concluded by a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ramneet Kaur.
