Faculty Development Program on Moodle organized by RIMT University
The School of Engineering & Technology, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), RIMT University, organized a Two-Week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Moodle: The Learning Management System” on July 14, 2025.
The opening and orientation session was conducted by Mr. Tanvir Singh, Project Manager from the Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay. Mr. Singh explained the importance of Moodle in today’s education system, highlighting how it serves as a powerful Learning Management System (LMS) that helps teachers deliver content, assess students, track progress, and communicate effectively in a digital environment.
He elaborated that Moodle is widely used across the world to support blended learning. Through Moodle, faculty can upload study materials, conduct quizzes, manage assignments, and foster online engagement, making the teaching-learning process more accessible and student-centered.
The program is being coordinated by Dr. Satish Saini, Director, IQAC and Dean, Engineering, as part of the university’s ongoing quality enhancement initiatives to build faculty competence in tech-integrated pedagogy and promote academic excellence.
Organized in association with Spoken Tutorials, IIT Bombay, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the FDP will culminate with an online examination, and successful participants will receive certification from IIT Bombay.
Faculty members from multiple departments are participating in the FDP with enthusiasm. Dr. Ajay Singh Rana, Associate Director, IQAC; Mr. Ranjeev Kumar Chopra, Mr. Brahamjeet Singh, Mr. Simranjeet Singh, Mr. Sarabjeet Singh and other faculty members were presented in the faculty development program.
Dr. Satish Saini expressed heartfelt thanks to the university leadership—Dr. B. S. Bhatia (Pro Chancellor, Academic), Dr. B. S. Brar (Vice Chancellor), Dr. S. C. Sharma (Pro Vice Chancellor), Sh. Rakesh Mohan (Registrar), and Dr. Jibanananda Mishra (Dean Academic Affairs)—for their unwavering support in organizing this forward-looking academic initiative.
