Design is a constant in the evolution of human history. However, post-pandemic this has achieved immense significance as resources have to be harmoniously adapted by such means and methods that reflect cultural expression, technological, and organizational changes across the globe.
To deliberate more on the above we are undertaking a webinar “Contemporary Design Education: The New Future” on Thursday, 28th January 2021 at 2:30 PM.
The webinar is an extension of our dissemination and awareness campaign, whereby we are establishing a “Center of Excellence” at the RIMT University under the aegis of the Erasmus+ programme co-funded by the European Union and as mandated in the Design and Capacity Building project in India of which we are one of the Indian partner.
Experts from our European partner Universities shall be deliberating on the theme of the webinar, highlighting that design has percolated into every operation of human activity. Further, we find that design is no longer domain-specific, collaborative; a multidisciplinary approach with other streams of studies to solve problems, crafts engaging, and curative experiences enabled by technology and is the thumb rule of the day.
Thus, the future of education is seen as a confluence of multiple disciplines with design, and this paradigm shift in education dissemination makes the learner put on diverse hats- from designing communications, products, services, human-computer interface to designing businesses, and others to address the challenges in futuristic experiences by delivering value through these associated environments.

In fact, we shall deliberate as to how design education seamlessly integrates the basics of design with technology and thereby create value for all the stakeholders.
