We are delighted to extend a special invitation to you for the forthcoming Annual Convocation of RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh. This grand event is dedicated to conferring degrees upon our Undergraduate/Postgraduate/Doctorate Students/Scholars, who successfully completed their academic programme during the period from 2018 to 2023.
Date of Convocation is 20th April, 2024 at the RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh.
We earnestly hope that this date aligns with your schedule, allowing you to grace us with your presence on this joyous day. For those of you who may have prior commitments preventing your attendance, we offer the option to receive your degree in-absentia. To facilitate your participation or in-absentia receipt of your degree, we kindly request you to register for the Convocation.
Convocation Instructions
- It is compulsory for students to attend the rehearsal. Any student failing to attend the rehearsal, will not be allowed to receive their degree in-person on the date of Convocation; no relaxation will be allowed under any circumstances.
- Students must occupy their allotted seats by 2:30 pm on 19-04-24 for rehearsal in the convocation hall. The Rehearsals will start at 3:00 pm. Seating Arrangement will be displayed by 2:00 pm on 19-04-24 outside the convocation hall
- Parents/guests are not allowed to come to the university on the day of Rehearsal i.e. 19-04-24. Parents/guests of the graduating students (maximum 2) accompanying the graduating students are only allowed on the day of Convocation i.e. 20-04-24.
- For students not personally attending the Convocation, the degree will not be given to his/her parents on the day of convocation.
- Entry in convocation hall (Near Gate number 2) will be allowed only for students and parents/guests showing the convocation pass, which will be issued on the day of rehearsal to the students near the convocation hall.
- For medal awardees, if any student is not attending the Convocation in person, he/she may authorize his/her parent to receive the medal on his/her behalf. In the letter of authorization, the concerned student will have to provide the name, address, and contact number of the parent to receive the medal. Further, it is mandatory for the parents and students to attend the rehearsal on 19-04-24 at 2:30 PM
- Students must occupy their allotted seats by 10:30 a.m. on 20-04-24 in the convocation hall and will observe complete silence.
- All students are required to come in formal dress to attend the convocation.
- Students are also requested to guide their parents to occupy their seats in the convocation Hall by 10:30 am on 20-04-24.
- Children below 18 years will not be permitted.
- Gowns will be issued on the day of Convocation. The graduating students will report at 8:00 am to 9:30 am to collect academic gowns (On returnable basis against security deposit of Rs.500/- and hire charges of Rs.150/-) outside the convocation hall. Those who fail to return the gowns, security amount deposited will be forfeited.
- During the rehearsal, students should keep their mobile phones switched off and carefully listen to the instructions. Student will observe complete silence and sit in the allotted seats during the entire rehearsal. A briefing will be given about the procedure for distribution of degrees as well as the protocol to be observed during the function. Students will strictly follow the procedure for distribution of degrees announced during the rehearsal, as well as observe the protocol during the function.
- After the rehearsal, there will also be a rehearsal for the group photograph so that it can be completed on time, on the day of Convocation.
- After the Convocation, there will be group photograph for each program. Timings for each program will be displayed on the day of rehearsal .Students are advised to follow the timing strictly.
- The graduating students will receive their degrees as per the schedule and announcements. Students of all academic programmes will be conferred degrees /medals individually on the stage by announcing their names.
- During the convocation, everyone must keep their mobile phones switched off and they will not clap during the entire function.
- During the convocation function students should not move out of their seats and leave the convocation hall.
- Briefcases/ Bags/ food and any objectionable materials will not be allowed in the Convocation hall.

Students are advised to remain standing at the following occasions:
At the time when the members of the academic procession enter the hall and till they take their seats.
At the time of National Anthem.
At the time when the academic procession departs and leaves the hall. - After the function is over and the convocation is declared closed, the singing group moves towards the mike to sing the National Anthem, simultaneously the entire audience in the hall will stand up and join the singing of the National Anthem.
- University has made arrangements for lunch to the degree recipients and their parents after the completition of convocation.
- Accommodation may be provided only to the degree recipients on a payment basis.
- Students are advised to make their own arrangements for safe custody of their belongings as the university will find it difficult to arrange the same.
- Vehicles will be parked in the allocated area and they will inform to the authority about the number of vehicle used at the time of issuance of convocation passes.
- The degree recipients who have not yet received their degrees are required to clear all the dues (Fees / Documents) for attending the convocation to receive the degrees. Students are advised to contact the Accounts Department/Student section by 11:00 am on or before 19-04-24 for the same.
- Participation Confirmation: Graduates will be eligible to attend the Convocation and receive their degrees only after confirming their participation through online registration and payment of the necessary fees before the due date.

- Degree Eligibility: Only graduates who have officially been awarded their degrees by RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh will be eligible to collect their degrees during the Convocation.
- Rehearsal and Briefing: A rehearsal and briefing session will be conducted one day prior to the Convocation.
- Accommodation: Limited accommodation can be provided in university hostels/guest houses (on first cum serve basis).
