Pharmacovigilance week celebration at RIMT University
Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences RIMT UNIVERSITY, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab celebrated 3rd National Pharmacovigilance Week from 17-23 September. During this week various activities like poster-making competition, rangoli competition, declamation competition, quiz competition etc were organized by the department. To make the students aware about the pharmacovigilance process and to actively encourage them to report adverse drug events, the department also organized a one-day workshop on “Role of PvPI and MvPI in patient safety”. The key speakers included Professor Bikash Medhi, Coordinator – PGIMER Pharmacovigilance Centre Regional Resource and Training & Technical Support Centre for North India; Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS), Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, and Dr. Ajay Prakash Associate Professor Department of Pharmacology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Ms. Renu Arya, Assistant Professor, College of Pharmacy also delivered the introductory lecture on pharmacovigilance to the students to familiarize with the context of the workshop. The webinar served as an extensive platform for communication & knowledge enrichment of the various stakeholders in the field of the safety of medical products for the ultimate benefit of the patient. Dr. Sanjeev Mittal Director, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Dr Ajay Bilandi Principal, College of Pharmacy, along with other faculty members played a pivotal role in organizing the event and making it a huge success.
