2ND NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “ADVANCES IN MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH 2018”
RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, organized its 2nd National Conference on “Advances in Multi disciplinary Research 2018” today. On this occasion eminent researchers presented quality research papers exhibiting innovative and creative ideas which are relevant for the industry to adopt and offer products and services that improve the Quality of Life of people.
Chancellor of RIMT University, Dr Hukam Chand Bansal, in his inaugural address welcomed the delegates. He was appreciative of the research activities undertaken at the University to enhance the quality of learning and education. He lauded the efforts made by the Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor and the Convenor in providing this platform for the research scholars to come together to share their research findings and achieve a productive industry academia interface for the benefit of the masses. He further added that such events help finding out the answers to scientific problems Mr Vijayant Bansal, Chairman and Pro Chancellor, RIMT University, exhorted the delegates to put their best foot forward and undertake world class applied research in the areas of disruptive technologies that is fast changing the face of the product and services being offered by the Industry. He ensured that RIMT University will extend wholehearted support to projects for collaborative work between Industry and the University.
Professor Gurmeet Singh Vice Chancellor Pondicherry University an eminent scientist in the field of corrosion science, nanofilm deposition and smart materials, delivered the keynote address. He enlightened the academia with the current innovative trends in science and also shared his experiences on how academic research is transformed from the research lab to commercial production. He motivated the students by telling them that they are in the best of the times and places and can do wonders if they focus on their objectives.
Mrs Sukhwinder Khanna, IRS, Principal Commissioner, Income Tax a passionate Public Servant and excellent in Computational Management Systems shared her experiences on the importance of algorithms for undertaking research for auditing and accountability. She further added that in order to make the country capable you need to make yourself capable first.
Dr Sat Dev Batish, .Scientist,chief director,Athena diagnostics centre motivated the students to work hard and to use their time wisely if they wish to succeed. He made the students realise the importance of time management as that is of utmost importance.
Dr. A S Chawla, Vice Chancellor, introduced the delegates to the conference theme and elaborated on its significance. He also explained the importance of a fair and just research methodology and how it helps improve the quality of research to be acceptable globally both in the academic and industrial spheres.
Dr. B S Bhatia, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Conference Chair asserted that the faculty and students should lay emphasis on quality academic interaction and undertake industrial research projects that are relevant to the industry in current times.
Dr, Rajiv Kumar Maheshwary, Dean School of Management and Convenor conveyed that such National and International conferences provide a platform for exchange of academic and industrial research essential for sustainable growth in this dynamic business environment.
The conference received 262 papers from research scholars across the Nation and Abroad. After due diligence and peer review the selected papers shall be published in the indexed RIMT University Journal. Six Technical sessions were held where 74 research papers were presented by authors who had come from diverse locations like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bhopal etc. Taking cue from the papers presented at the conference the Vice Chancellor, exhorted the faculty to undertake quality research. He recognized the contribution of the Deans/ Directors/ Principals/ HODs/ Faculty/ Supporting staff of RIMT University who were part of different committees for doing a commendable job to make this conference a success. A special mention was made for the students who had provided logistic and hospitality support to the delegates.
