M.Tech Highways and Transportation Engineering program is a two year program (four semesters) first three semesters include theory subjects, Project and Seminar. Fourth semester is duration for the dissertation.
The program is one of the best attractions for the students. The department is running both regular as well as part-time courses. The course basically includes various subjects like Geometric Design, Pavement analysis and design, Pavement materials and Traffic engineering. The focus is to provide hands on expertise in well-equipped labs for material testing and the software for road design.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category)

Demonstrate skill for planning, design, construction and maintenance of transportation projects.
Assessment of environmental and its allied issues to the construction of the transportation projects.
Demonstrate skills to use modern engineering tools, software and equipment’s to analyze problems and evolve solutions.
To enhance communication skills and successfully apply research aptitude among students to R &D activities and consultancy works.
Students can apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to Highway Engineering related problems.
An ability to identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze.
An ability to plan, analyses, design and implement engineering problems and design system components or processes to meet the specified needs.
An ability to apply contextual knowledge to assess societal, legal issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
Today, lots of infrastructural activities are being undertaken in the country. This course will open many opportunities to the students passing M.Tech in Highway and Transportation Engineering in various fields such as bridge Engineering, road construction etc.
