B.Sc. Chemistry (Hons)
This programme is a good platform for students who want to pursue careers within or outside chemistry, or if they wish to take further postgraduate training in, for example, education or in a specialized masters programme before going on to a research career. Students get a solid grounding in all aspects of chemistry and can choose to combine this with some nonchemical options to broaden their education.

The nature of the programme means that students experience a wide variety of approaches to teaching, from formal lectures and practical experiments in the lab through to small group tutorials and close, supportive mentoring, and the use of Virtual Learning Environment platforms. Many aspects of this particular programme have a strong element of experiment-based studies. Lectures by leading figures in the field, along with smaller group sessions, are in preference to textbook based studies. Focused sessions encourage debate and discussion of the lecture material and facilitate problem-solving.
Career opportunities exist in teaching in schools & colleges (after M.Sc.) where any of the science subjects is an important discipline, Indian Administrative Services and other state and central Govt. Services where knowledge of science subjects is an advantage to careers in organizations/industries where a high level of competence and dependence on Chemistry is demanded.
