Course Overview

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Hons is an undergraduate commerce (accounts) course. Bachelor of Commerce Honours covers the study of principles of accounting, economic theory, micro and macroeconomics, money and banking systems, knowledge about business, trade and its characteristics and policies involved, etc. Simply, B.Com. (Hons) is a graduate degree program that focuses on the systematic study of the concepts of Accountancy, Business Studies, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Banking, Law, Taxation, Marketing, Management Studies, etc. The duration of the course is three years and the syllabus is divided into papers. It is career orienting in nature that opens many jobs after its successful passing.

Eligibility and admission

(a) 40% marks in the aggregate in case of students who have passed 10+2 Commerce group.


(b) 45% marks in the aggregate in case of student who have passed 10+2 in Humanities group with at least two out of Commerce/ Accounts/Math/ Economics/Management papers.


(c) 50% marks in the aggregate in case of students who have passed 10+2 but not covered under (a) and (b) above;


(d) Students who opt for any one of the following Vocational subjects, in B.Com. Professional Part I should have passed with at least 50% marks, 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto: 

- Office Management and Secretarial Practice

- Principle and Practice of Insurance

- Tax Procedure and Practice

Candidates who have completed B.Com have a high employment rate as there is no business which does not require a Manager or a Commerce Specialist to manage the financial aspects of their respective businesses. All the companies registered under the Companies Act, are required to get their accounts audited only by practicing Chartered Accountants because of which accountants never run out of job.
