Course Overview

M. Tech - Mechanical Engineering is a postgraduate Mechanical Engineering course. It is a two years specialisation programme that deals with the study of mechanics, statics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, and structural analysis used in designing, development, construction, production, installation, operation and maintenance of tools, machines and various other mechanical equipment such as automobiles, trucks, airplanes, trains, space vehicles, lathes, milling machines, grinders, large steam and gas turbines, components of thermal power stations, internal combustion engines, jet engines, air conditioning and heating machines, refrigerators etc. In short, this degree course mainly focuses on the study of application of the principles of mechanics and energy to the design of machines and devices.

Eligibility and admission

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field.

Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category)
