M. Tech - Civil Engineering

M. Tech - Civil Engineering is a postgraduate Civil Engineering programme. The programme includes designing, supervision and construction activities of public works like roads, bridges, tunnels, buildings, airports, dams, water works, sewage systems, ports etc. and offers a multitude of challenging career opportunities. The course is an important and valuable which opens many job scopes for the candidates after the completion.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field.

The degree is awarded after two years specialization programme in any one of the various streams of Civil Engineering. These two years are further divided into two semesters each. Students acquire not only a sound engineering knowledge but also very good supervisory and administrative skills.

As there will always be the requirement of construction of new building structures so the civil engineers will always be needed to construct those and also maintain and repair existing facilities and structures. So the demand for a civil engineer is never ending. There are tremendous job opportunities with municipal corporations, rail, road and airport construction companies, development companies, water supply department, defence forces and other infrastructure related industries. Students can find employment as a supervisor on a construction site as well a managerial position or also a position in design. They can also engage themselves in research as well as teaching faculty in government and private services and institutes, as well as work as independent consultants.
