Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is an undergraduate Information Technology course. The programme provides a sound academic base from which an advanced career in computer application can be developed. The programme provides a substantial understanding of concepts in key areas of Computer Science.
The duration is three years, divided into six semesters. The programme provides sound practical skills for addressing problems which arise from computer systems and applications.
Students have a bright future in the IT field as they can take up ample jobs as programmers and grow to become project managers. B.C.A. also paves way for a post graduation in the relevant field which is always preferred. Students can seek jobs both in public and private sectors, banking, insurance, accounting, stock markets, e-commerce and marketing. Typical job profiles include software publishers, finance managers, computer programmers, teachers & lecturers, chief information officers, marketing managers, business consultants, computer scientists, database administrators, computer systems analysts, independent consultants, computer support service specialists, information systems managers, systems administrator computer presentation specialists and software developers.
