BA Hons (International Relations) is an undergraduate Public Relation programme. The programme explores all major areas of international relations, including conflict and security studies, international political economy, political theory, and the use of modern research techniques that impact upon political theory. It aims to give them a historical understanding of how the 'society of states' has evolved, and how it may be changing today. Students examine the way states behave and what obligations they may have to wider conceptions of international society.
This 3 year programme is spread across six semesters.
The programme helps to explore the political dynamics that influence interstate cooperation, and assess the specific role that international organisations, such as the United Nations, play in promoting international peace and security. Students also have the option to study terrorism, strategic studies, international political economy and conflict in the Middle East. They can have careers with public or private organisations, and agencies concerned with politics and conflict. Typical job profiles are Government Relations Consultants, Assistant Managers - Front Office, Marketing and Client Relations Officers, Customer Relation Executives, Assist. Managers - International Marketing and Teacher Advance Course in BA International Relations. Students can pursue MA (International Relations).
